Automatic Weather Station

cultYvate’s multi-sensor AWS provides real-time insights to farmers The weather station automatically monitors wind speed, wind direction, rainfall, solar radiation, air pressure, temperature and humidity in the environment and feeds this data to mobile and web applications.

Having more accurate weather data for the farm allows the farmer to make much more effective agronomic decisions to determine the right time to plant a crop based on rain and temperature readings, choose when to spray pesticides based on wind speed and direction, understand humidity conditions to manage disease control and so forth.

cultYvate’s AWS can be installed stand-alone and collect data that is passed to the cloud or gateway. This data is further analysed and insights shared as advisory to farmers and clients mobile devices

ANEMOMETER

An anemometer is a device that measures wind speed and direction. It is a common instrument used in weather stations.

Features

RAIN GUAGE

The rain gauge gathers and measures the amount of precipitation over a predefined area, over a period of time. It is used for determining the depth of precipitation ( usually in mm) that occurs over a unit area and thus measuring rainfall amount.

Solar Panel

The solar panel is an assembly of photovoltaic solar cells mounted in a frame, usually rectangular. The solar panels capture sunlight as a source of radiant energy, which is converted into electric energy in the form of direct current electricity.

Temperature and Humidity sensor

A temperature and humidity sensor is a low-cost electronic device that detects, measures and reports both dampness and air temperature. The proportion of moisture noticeable all around the highest amount of moisture at a specific air temperature.

Features

  • The temperature sensor’s accuracy and range are – 0.5 to + 0.5 degrees Fahrenheit  ( – 0.3 to + 0.3 degrees Centigrade) and from – 40 degrees to 150 degrees Fahrenheit ( – 40 degrees to 65 degrees Centigrade)
  • The humidity sensor’s accuracy and range are – 2 to + 2 %
  • Temperature data updates every 10 seconds, humidity updates every minute.
